Harder than it Looks

Daily blogging has turned out to be harder than I thought it was going to be. The hard part for me, is to not editorialize. It is now so clear to me that jjust sitting back and commenting on other people’s hard work (the news) is expenitially easier than writing an interesting full facts story. That being said, here we are, day three.

Today Timothy Geithner went through the rounds at his confirmation hearing; including apologizing to the Senate Finance Committee for his prior failure to pay $34,000 in taxes. Geithner reportedly told the Committee, “These were careless mistakes. They were avoidable mistakes, but they were unintentional. I should have been more careful.” Although many Republican members of the Finance Committee grilled Geithner, he is expected to be confirmed soon. Several of the senators told Geithner during the confirmation hearing that they planned to vote for his nomination. Sen. Pat Roberts, a Republican from Kansas, told Geithner, “You will be confirmed” However Roberts did say his phones had been “ringing off the hook” from constituents upset about the prospect of having a treasury secretary who was so careless in tending to his own taxes.

Okay now that I have that out of the way there has been something that I’ve been meaning to say. Is it just me or is John King even more gorgeous? I really hadn’t seen much of him between the election and him getting his own show. It might be the old “absence makes the heart fonder” but he definately looks like he’s been working out, his teeth look whiter and I know this isn’t possible but his eyes look somehow bluer. Yeah I’m nuts, that’s not even the half of it, but honestly congrats to John on getting his own show, its about time!
